River Vale Baseball and Softball Recreation Teams
Our River Vale Revolution Recreation programs offer a fun way for all kids to experience and learn the games of baseball and softball with their friends. The recreation season runs from March to June.
River Vale REC BASEBALL PROGRAMS
Kindergarten River Vale Baseball Clinic
The goal of the clinic is to expose kids to the fundamentals of baseball in a fun and age appropriate way. T-ball/coach pitch scrimmages are introduced after the first few sessions with the focus on development and fun -- we do not keep score and everyone gets a turn to bat each inning. There is one weekend session per week.
1st Grade River Vale Baseball Clinic
Focus is on continuing teach fundamentals and rules of the game, while introducing more organized Tee ball/coach pitch games. There are two sessions per week.
2nd Grade PeeWee Baseball
Kids will be placed on teams and will play competitive games. All kids are given equal playing time and will play multiple positions. The format is part coach-pitch, part kid-pitch from a distance of 40 feet. There are typically two games and one practice per week.
3rd/4th Grade Minors Baseball
Full kid-pitch from a distance of 46 feet. Games played against other RV teams as well as teams from surrounding towns. There are typically two games and one practice per week.
5th/6th Grade Majors Baseball
Games played against other RV teams as well as teams from surrounding towns. There are typically two games and one practice per week.
7th/8th Grade Koufax Baseball
Full-sized field (60x90), with games played in the Kinderkamack league. There are typically two games and one practice per week.
River Vale REC SOFTBALL PROGRAMS
K Softball Clinic
The goal of the clinic is to expose our youngest players to the fundamentals of softball in a fun and age appropriate way. Coaches will run 60 minute sessions for the girls on Saturday mornings for 6 weeks, consisting of drills and stations.
1st/2nd Grade Pee Wee Softball
Kids will be placed on teams and will play competitive games. All kids are given equal playing time and will play multiple positions. Games played against other River Vale teams as well as teams from surrounding towns in the Kinderkamack Softball league. There is typically one game and one practice per week. Note that registration in PeeWee Softball includes enrollment in the above mentioned ChallengeU clinic as well.
